FNB drops iPad 2 prices
FNB on Monday announced drops in the monthly fees for various Apple iPad 2 models. The Apple iPad 2 16 GB WiFi’s monthly tariff will drop by 20% and the iPad 2 16GB WiFi and 3G by 17%. The iPad 2 16 GB WiFi is now offered at a monthly rate of R165 and the iPad 2 16GB WiFi and 3G at R219, both payable over 24 months.
Reducing rates enables FNB to provide its customers with access to electronic banking.
“We offer all the devices at fixed monthly payments, over two years with zero additional fees, interest or charges payable. The device costs are charged in addition to the customer’s monthly banking fees,” Irlon Terblanche at FNB’s Core Banking Solutions said.
”It’s a first for any South African bank. We are offering customers mobile banking technology at the lowest possible cost,” Terblanche said.
“It is a winning solution for our customers. They acquire one of the latest top-end mobile devices at a reduced rate with 24 months to pay. At the same time, we are able to attract and switch customers to FNB’s low-cost banking. We are eagerly awaiting confirmation on the local availability of the new Apple iPad,” Terblanche adds.
“Customers who take up the offer enjoy unlimited Cheque Card swipes, four free ATM cash withdrawals per month as well as free subscription to Online and Mobile Banking and the FNB Banking App. While the price of the device quoted to customers when they contract with FNB will not change during the 24 month period, the fees on the Cheque Account may change in line with FNB’s Annual Price review, effective 1 July 2012.”
FNB clients can select from various smartphones or tablets, including Apple iPads, Samsung Galaxy Tablets, Samsung SII, BlackBerry and HTC smartphones and the new Samsung Galaxy Note which is a new device category, combining the power of a smartphone and a tablet. Some smartphones come preloaded with the FNB Banking App.
The offer is available to new and existing Cheque Account customers (including clients with FNB Gold and Platinum Cheque Accounts, Young Professionals, FNB One Accounts, FNB Private Clients, Islamic Finance and RMB Private Bank).
