SA Communications Minister appoints new board members

South African Communications Minister Dina Pule yesterday announced the new non-executive directors appointed to the boards of the South African Post Office (SAPO) and Sentech.

All appointments have been approved by Cabinet and the new members were offered three-year contracts, effective from 1 March 2012.

Former SAPO members’ terms ended February 2012. Pule also announced that George Mothema will replace Vuyokazi Mahlati as the new SAPO board chairperson.

“I am pleased that the following people have accepted the challenge of helping the State-Owned Companies to achieve their goals of delivering quality services to all South Africans. I wish them every success in their endeavours,” Pule said. Pule also thanked outgoing board members for their contribution.

The appointments fall in line with Minister Pule’s commitment to acting quickly to stabilise top leadership positions of the State-Owned Companies that report to the Department of Communications.
