M-Pesa is reportedly linked to numerous service providers that accept it as a means of payment.

Vodacom Tanzania Managing Director, Rene Meza, is quoted as saying the bonus will be awarded on the first transaction of the day, per service used. “If you buy Luku three times in a day, for instance, you will get Tsh1000 on the first transaction only. But if you buy Luku and DSTV you will get the bonus airtime for each of the transactions,” writes the Daily News.

The airtime can also be used for on-net calling, national SMS’ and the Internet.

According to the report, the M-Pesa service has been well established amongst consumers and the company has formed an agent network of over 35,000 outlets.

  1. M-pesa is awesome and all, but I think its getting too big for the sake of the Africa citizens.Imagine 20 years from now where m-pesa controls 75% of Africa cashless transactions, then one day it decides to go rogue and triple its fees….the goverments wount do anything about it.because by doing something about it without a replacement, will ened up harming the continent's economy…

I think we need a competitor to vodacom's m-pesa and in a huge way.
