Business Connexion Namibia appoints new Deputy MD

A proud product of the Namibian soil and a great believer and supporter of his country’s development initiatives, Edison Basson, has been appointed as Deputy Managing Director of Business Connexion Namibia. Edison will deputise Ferdi Graupe for a transitional period and it is envisaged that he will then take over the position of Managing Director.

Rodwell Zvayari, Group Executive: International at Business Connexion Group says: “Edison has all the qualities that we need to take Business Connexion Namibia to greater heights. Because he is originally from Namibia and understands the dynamiques of the country, his appointment will not only be beneficial to us, but also to the business environment as well as the Namibian community at large.”

Edison, is a well versed and dedicated ICT professional with experience spanning over 15 years of ICT service delivery. He has been with Business Connexion Namibia for over two years as an Account Executive. In this role, he was directly responsible for Public Sector business development.

Prior to joining Business Connexion Namibia, Edison spent time at Absa Namibia, FNB Namibia, National Housing Enterprise, Old Mutual Namibia as well as the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation.

Edison adds: “Being born and bred in Namibia gives me an added advantage as I do not only understand the business environment of Namibia, but also the challenges faced by our communities. I am continuously seeking to contribute in a meaningful way to this country’s development priorities and this appointment will give me the opportunity to do just that.”

His past roles spanned across ICT Service Delivery, Systems Administration as well as ICT Operations Management. Basson is trained and certified in various aspects of the business of ICT including Enterprise Architecture, ICT Infrastructure Management, ICT Project Management as well as in General Management. To further enhance his knowledge, Edison is currently pursuing studies in Business Informatics.
