Microsoft recently launched the Consumer Preview of Windows 8 and it’s already being reported that the new operating system could be released later this year.
According to Bloomberg, the possible release date could be as early as October this year. According to the report, the new operating system will support Intel and ARM processors from the start. However, over 40 Intel devices will be supported, while only five ARM devices will be supported.
Microsoft will most likely announce the official release and marketing details of Windows 8 in April this year.
Wired.com recently reported that Lenovo plans to launch a Windows 8-based tablet in October, so Microsoft can not slip up this time around. At present all seems fine and dandy as Windows 8 development seems on course.
