Opera Software released the latest version of their Opera Mini web browser for Google’s mobile operating system Android today.
The browser dominating the mobile market promises a faster smartphone browsing experience.
“Today, Opera Software launched the Opera Mini 7 web browser in a final version for the Android platform,” Opera said.
According to various research firms, Android is currently the top mobile platform with a 48-51% market share. Next is Apple’s iOS with 19% market share.
Opera Mini is particularly suited for developing markets where internet data costs is preventing mass smartphone adoption.
As mobile webpage views increased from 4.3% to 8.49% worldwide, in Africa it leapt from 6.33% to 19.17% from January 2011 to January 2012.
