Zim’s Realtime Africa, Bytes Systems create data centres

South Africa’s Bytes Systems Integration has joined forces with Zimbabwe’s Realtime Africa to establish new data centres in the country.

Zimbabwe, which is emerging from a 10-year economic meltdown, is widely seen as a huge destination for information technology and mobiles and telecommunications that would help the southern African nation’s recovery efforts.

Realtime Africa Managing Director, Wilson Mutasa, made the synergies announcement with Bytes Systems Integration at the just-ended Information Communication Technology (ICT) summit in Harare on Friday.

The partnership between Realtime Africa and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE)- listed Bytes Systems Integration is aimed at building data centres, mainly in the capital Harare, before spreading to other cities of Bulawayo, Mutare, Gweru and Masvingo.

“Virtualisation has transformed data centres. Virtualisation will allow our customers to respond faster to changing business requirements and reduce their overall data centre costs,” said Mutasa.

Among other benefits of the partnership, Realtime Africa and Bytes Systems Integration would provide integrated products solutions and services to potential customers, not only in Zimbabwe but throughout the southern
African region.

Bytes Systems Integrated is widely known for designing, managing and implementing customised IT solutions through the integration of hardware and software systems from advanced technologies.
