Microsoft set to advance Kenya’s information technology

microsoft_building.jpgMICROSOFT has taken another step towards improving Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in Kenya through partnering with non-governmental organizations, an official has confirmed.

Microsoft senior director for Community Affairs, Akhtar Badshah, said his company’s venture with NGOs would boost an outreach programme in many communities of Kenya.


Badshah said the partnership also involved an academy for empowering target organisations with new technology skills and other related developmental processes in the information technology sector.

He said the main purpose of the deal and the establishment of the academy was to help bring the much needed access to affordable technology to the east African country.
