The 2008 IST (information society technologies)-Africa conference and exhibition will take place in Windhoek, Namibia, from 7 to 9 May 2008.
The event, which is part of the EU-funded IST-Africa initiative, is the third in a series of annual conferences which bring together delegates from commercial, government and research organisations across Africa and Europe. The goal is to bridge the digital divide by sharing knowledge, experience, lessons learnt and good practice.
IST-Africa 2008 will focus on applied ICT (information communications technologies) research topics addressing major societal and economic challenges. The programme combines strategic keynote presentations, technical and policy papers, case studies, workshops, an exhibition and social activities.
