Tanzania: UhuruOne gives Alepo products a chance

Tanzania Internet Service Provider UhuruOne has announced that Alepo has been chosen to support growth in the ISP’s prepaid wi-fi services in the East African country. The move aims to reduce prices and increase overall connectivity for existing users and create options for new customers to come onboard.

According to a company statement: “The new agreement between both companies will see Alepo Wi-Fi deploy infrastructure, real-time Wi-Fi charging and policy control, prepaid voucher management and partner management.”

Tanzania is one of Africa’s fastest growing economies and as more users get online, prepaid options are becoming popular as an option for those wanting to get online, but do not need a full monthly plan offering.

“UhuruOne will leverage Alepo’s Wi-Fi solutions to deliver prepaid Wi-Fi services to subscribers throughout Tanzania, in corporate offices, hotels, shopping malls, universities, residential communities and other locations,” the company said.

The move is seen as a positive one for Tanzania, according to experts who see the Internet sector in East Africa as one with huge potential for massive growth.
