Huawei is set to reveal its 5G foldable phone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Sunday, 24 February.
The Chinese company announced the introduction of this new device on Twitter, aiming to be the first to showcase a foldable phone in 2019. The release was reportedly planned to before that of Samsung’s foldable device. Huawei’s smartphone will have flexible OLED panels, similar to Samsung’s ‘unbreakable’ screen.
Aside from flexible tech, Huawei is also highlighting the 5G capabilities of this new phone, even though 5G networks aren’t yet fully operational in most countries where these devices will be available. Huawei likely won’t be the only company debuting this kind of tech at MWC 2019, but it sure is gunning to be the first.
