There’s no release date yet but we know it’s on its way because Bethesda announced the next entry in its beloved Fallout franchise, Fallout 76.

Fallout 76 looks like it will be a new story built on the Fallout 4 engine, but instead of a continuation, it looks like it will take players back to the beginning of the entire Fallout saga. 76 speaks to the 300th anniversary of the American experiment – 2076, and Vault 76 is where you’ll be coming from.


It also looks to be very different from the previous game as multiple sources have told Kotaku that it’s an online survival game in the vein of DayZ or Rust, changing up Fallout’s traditional singleplayer style. It will still, however, maintain the main storyline and quests of a normal RPG.

All of the details will be revealed on 10 June during Bethesda’s E3 2018 press conference.
