Telecommunications company Vodafone will embark on an educational drive to teach users about data usage in Ghana. A report by Research and Markets found that while Ghana’s voice telecommunications market is saturated at about 75%, their internet penetration is only about 10%.

“It’s important for us to start thinking forward because when you look at other markets data is definitely growing very aggressively. And so the next phase for us is to see how we can also make that growth happen here in Ghana,” said Vodafone Ghana’s Chief Marketing Officer Uche Ofodile.
She added that Vodafone will embark on a programme to teach users who data usage can empower them.
“When we come out with the campaign in a few weeks, you’ll see us starting from that point of view that people need to understand how data empowers them.”
“We can then start to get into the propositions we’d offer them, the devices and the speed among others. So what you’ll see is that Vodafone would once again lead in terms of starting with the customer and making sure that the right things are done,” she concluded.
