According to IDC, HP retained its position in South Africa as the number 1 server vendor, increasing its market share from 40.4% in the third quarter of 2009 to 41,5% in last year’s fourth quarter.
Manoj Bhoola, HP South Africa’s Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking (ESSN) Country Manager, confirmed that HP has strengthened its position within the African server market.
Yesterday, the company was dropped as an authorized reseller of Cisco’s networking products due to increasing competition between the two parties.
HP recently announced its financial results for the first fiscal quarter ended 31 Jan 2010, with net revenues of $31.2 billion, up 8% from last year.
Enterprise Storage and Servers (ESS) reported total revenue of $4.4 billion, up 11%, while Industry Standard Servers (ISS) revenue increased by 27%.
