The construction of the technology park in the capital Accra kicked off last week.
The ceremony to commence the construction work of the Technology Park at Adako-Jachie would cost a whopping US$ 2 million (R14.8 million).
The two-million dollar project is being funded by both Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and IBIS TECH.
In his speech at Ejisu-Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Vice President John Dramani Mahama, said science and technology play pivotal role in sustaining the country’s socio-economic development.
To date, Nigeria has been regarded as the only nation in the West Africa, that has stood firm on its policy to intensify Information and Communication Technoloy (ICT), but Ghana has since stepped up efforts.
Vice chancellor of the university, Professor Kwasi Kwafo Adarkwa, also spoke about the advantages of embracing technology in Ghana and its impact towards improving people’s lives.
