
Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) has clinched a US$5 million deal with Zimbabwe’s PowerTel, aimed at boosting communication between the two neighbouring countries.
According to the Botswana Government Gazette for February, Botswana Telecoms Corporation has agreed to provide PowerTel with bandwidth capacity for two years.
Botswana Telecommunications Corporation has committed P504 million (about R600million) to secure reliable bandwidth connection from the West African Cable Systems (WACS) .
PowerTel is Zimbabwe’s electricity power company under the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA).
