BancTec’s document scanning services reach South Africa

Global provider of high-volume document and payment processing solutions and services, BancTec, signed yesterday a distribution deal with ImageTEK, the South African supplier of scanners and document capture solutions.

The agreement states BancTec’s presence in South and sub-Saharan Africa with its IntelliScan® and E-Series high-speed document scanning solutions, using ImageTEK’s technical support in the region.

“Their market penetration and extensive relationships, in conjunction with our enterprise-scale solutions, will deliver significant benefits for large organizations throughout the region”, commented Jim Forkin, vice president of international business development, BancTec.

According to Ian Humphreys, CEO ImageTEK, South African high-end production scanner technology market needs an uplift to extend the current range of solutions and meet the demands of business process outsourcing (BPO) and service related industries in both government and private sectors. South African government is fueling a ten year, $80 billion capital expenditure program to sustain further growth in public and private sectors.

ImageTEK is a member of the Premark Holdings Group of Companies and Africa’s leading specialist distributor for document capture products, supplying the market with hardware and software through a dedicated channel of System Integrators and Imaging Solutions Vendors (ISVs).
