Johannesburg(IT News Africa)–Neotel says its recently launched data card, the NeoGo, will change the way consumers experience wireless communication
“The data card offers consumers a simple and hassle-free method of connecting to email and the Internet.
“It is compatible with multiple operating systems such as Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Mac and the attractive price range gives it an edge over other existing data cards available in the market today,” commented Mukul Sharma, Head of Consumerand Channel Sales at Neotel.
Neotel introduced the data card last week.
The NeoGo data card offers customers up to 50 percent more data within bundle, plus an abundle rate of 8 cents per MB, which the official said is significantly lower than current offerings in the market.
The card operates on CDMA Rev-A (download speeds up to 3.1 Mbps and upload speeds up to 1.8 Mbps) and it compares favourably with HSDPA connections.
Neotel is South Africa’s first converged communications network operator.
It provides a range of value-added voice and data services for businesses, wholesale network operators and providers and consumers using its pure-IP Next Generation Network, powered by Neotel’s high-performance fibre optic backbone.
The company connects the major centres in South Africa to each other and to the world, directly linking the country into Tata Communications global Tier 1 network.
