MEA region adopts Oracle’s Fusion Middleware

More than 90,000 organisations worldwide have adopted Oracle Fusion Middleware to lower IT costs, streamline critical processes and IT management, mitigate risk, secure corporate information and boost productivity while empowering users.

Oracle has completed the integration of BEA Systems in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and continues to see customer momentum after the integration.

Leading organisations from the public sector, plus financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail, utilities, healthcare, media & entertainment, travel and transportation, and high tech industries in EMEA that adopted components of Oracle Fusion Middleware during Fiscal Year 2009 include: Rewe Austria Dienstleistungen GmbH, Sony DADC (Austria); De Persgroep and Infrabel (Belgium); State IT-service Centre of Finland; Generale De Sante (France); Budapest Airport and Institute of Geodesy, Cartography and Remote Sensing, OTP Bank (Hungary); Irish Life (Ireland); Italian Ministry of Defense and Consorzio Operativo Montepaschi (Italy); Severstal JSC and Vneshtorgbank (Russia); Grupo Pelayo (Spain); Credit Suisse (Switzerland); ING Bank (Turkey); Luton Borough Council (UK).

Gartner recently published its estimates of worldwide vendor revenues in the Application Server market segment for 2008. Gartner found that Oracle is #1 in Application Server with 36.7 per cent market share, based on the combined market share of Oracle and BEA.

IDC recently published its estimates of vendor revenues in the Worldwide Application Server market segment for 2008. IDC found that Oracle is #1 in Application Server Software Platform Revenue with 35.8 per cent market share.
