Johannesburg (IT News Africa) — THE Independent Communications Authority of South Africa will Thursday meet stakeholders in the telecommunications industry to discuss developments in the sector.

The South African regulator has scheduled the stakeholder meeting in Sandton. In a statement, ICASA said the business plan for the 2009/10 financial year will feature prominently during the meeting.

It added, without giving reasons, that the meeting has been moved from the Southern Sun to its Sandton premises.

“Please note that the Stakeholder Meeting scheduled for 30 July 2009 at the Sandton sun has now been moved to ICASA premises.”

ICASA has been busy of late. It recently concluded the regulatory process required for migration from analogue to digital television and closed submissions regarding the second draft terrestrial broadcasting frequency plan.
