Neil Cameron has been appointed the new general manager for Johnson Controls Systems & Service South Africa. Taking over the reigns from Eric Smith, who has retired after of 30 years of service, Cameron will be responsible for driving the company’s business forward while ensuring that all areas of the business are profitable.
With 20 years of industry experience, Cameron offers a wealth of knowledge which will undoubtedly benefit Johnson Controls Systems & Service. Cameron previously headed up the Systems division and holds an MSc degree from University of Pretoria.

Jose Fernandes has been appointed Cameron’s successor, stepping up to up to lead the System division which is divided into two areas: Building Management Systems and Security. As the former head of the contracting division Fernandes has been with the company since 2004, working to develop its process refrigeration business and more recently focusing on the food and beverage market segment.
Taking over from Fernandes is Russell Hattingh, previously sales manager, responsible for the sale of contracting solutions to the mining and industrial sectors. He will, as the head of the contracting division, be responsible for driving new refrigeration and chiller business to the mining, food and beverage and process systems marketplaces. With a Masters degree in Mechanical engineering from the University of the Witwatersand Hattingh has been involved in the ventilation and cooling industry since 1999.
Deon Coetzee, national sales manager for Johnson Controls’ HVAC division, is responsible for driving the company’s airconditioning business in southern Africa. He now adds console manufacturing, for Johannesburg, to his portfolio. Coetzee has 13 years of industry experience and holds a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stellenbosch University as well as an MBL from UNISA (University of South Africa).
Johnson Controls Systems & Service South Africa features the following
divisions: Building Services, HVAC, Systems, Contracting and English Speaking Africa which fall under the global Building Efficiency division within Johnson Controls.
