According to a report via CNN, an American-born man, who’d reportedly pledged allegiance to ISIS, had gunned down 50 people in the early hours of 12 June, 2016.

The report reveals that the attack commenced at a gay nightclub in Orlando. The attack has been deemed, by authorities, as the deadliest mass shooting in the United States and the nation’s worst terror attack since 9/11.

The report revealed that the gunman was Omar Mateen, 29, of Fort Pierce, Florida. The report further revealed that Mateen was interviewed by the FBI in 2013 and 2014; however, was not found to be a threat by the FBI.

Mateen had carried an assault rifle and a pistol into the Pulse club at about 2am and started shooting. 50 people tragically lost their live’s and 53 were wounded. This is according to the report.

The tragic violence was brought to a halt when police crashed into the building with an armored vehicle and stun grenades and killed Mateen.

The world has taken to Twitter to mourn the loss of life due to this tragic event.
