SA cabinet approves internet censorship bill
South Africa’s Cabinet has approved the submission of the films and publications amendment bill despite public outcry that it is guided by policy seeking to curb internet freedom. The cabinet said the bill seeks to amend the films and publications act of 1996 by adapting it to technological advances. Read More.
Fixed broadband on the rise in Africa
According to a study by research consulting firm Quantum-Web, the number of connections to fixed broadband in Africa reached 12.8 million at the end of Q2. Read More.
Liquid Telecom reports sharp rise of African content on network
Liquid Telecom revealed a sharp rise in the proportion of local content on its network, from 20 percent three years ago to now 50 percent. According to the company, this has been driven by the deepening of Africa’s internet infrastructure. Read More.

Millicom has announced the appointment of Cynthia Gordon as Executive Vice President and CEO of its Africa Division. Read More.
Botswana Post unveils electricity payment app
Botswana Post has officially released a new mobile app. The mobile app, which is currently available to Android users, gives consumers the ability to purchase prepaid electricity directly from the app. Read More.

It was by far one of the best looking games at the time, and its gameplay mechanics were absolutely phenomenal.
