Albrecht appointed as Deezer CEO

Music streaming service Deezer has appointed Hans-Holder Albrecht as CEO. The former Millicom CEO will take on his role effective 1 February 2015. Albrecht comes from Millicom, a telecom and media group that is present in Africa and Latin America, where he was president and CEO.

Albrecht announced earlier this month that he would leave at the end of the year. Albrecht was previously president and CEO of European media group Modern Times. Deezer, which launched in the US in September, currently has 16 million users in over 180 countries.

The company has been without a CEO since Axel Dauchez left to join Publicis France last spring. Founder Daniel Marhely has been acting CEO, running the company with two directors.
