Datatec, an international Information and Communications Technology (ICT) company, recently announced that its subsidiary, Logicalis, has acquired two businesses in Europe. Logicalis Group recently purchased a 70 per cent interest in Cilnet, a Cisco systems integrator and managed services business based in Portugal.

This acquisition is said to increase Logicalis’ Cisco technical expertise for the Iberian region and will also complement the existing Spanish operation with collaboration, data centre, infrastructure, managed services and networking capabilities. This is said to expand the offering to the region.

Cilnet was founded in 2002 and currently has over 90 employees. This includes 8 Cisco Certified Internetwork Experts (CCIEs). The company designs and integrates contact centre, networking and data centre solutions that are complemented with managed services, application development and security skills. Annual revenues, according to Datatec, are approximately $21.9 million. Datatec also reports that Logicalis Germany has recently acquired Orange Networks, which is a Microsoft services business that is focused on Microsoft cloud and managed services with a Germany-wide presence that includes Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Offenbach and Munich. This new acquisition will allow Logicalis Germany to advance itself to Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status, as well as enhance its hybrid cloud offering.

Orange Networks was founded in 2004 and is based in Hamburg. The company currently employs 36 staff members whose, according to Datatec, technical and strategic expertise in Microsoft cloud technologies and innovation enable the company to support its customers’ digitisation projects by providing a wide range of consulting services, development, deployment and managed services across the Microsoft portfolio. According to Datatec, the annual revenues for Orange Networks are approximately $5.4 million.

“Both these acquisitions bring additional expertise and experience that will prove valuable to Logicalis’ existing client base in Europe. Cilnet will augment our Cisco offerings across the whole region of Iberia, increasing our capabilities and expanding our service portfolio. Orange Networks’ Microsoft Azure skillsets in the cloud space will provide additional expertise and experience both in Germany and other parts of Europe,” said Jens Montanana, Chief Executive Officer, Datatec.
