2015 has been a great year for the technology sector within Africa, as well as across the globe. This year alone we IT News Africa had listed the Top 10 Richest countries in Africa as well as revealed some of the top most innovative companies in Africa.
IT News Africa also revealed Africa’s leading women in tech for 2015. The list included included the likes of Yasmin Belo-Osagie and Afua Osei who are the co-founders of She Leads Africa. Additionally, the list paid tribute to Annette Muller who is the founder of DotNxt and Stella Rotich who is a graduate from the University of Eldoret.

Top 10 richest countries in Africa rated
Africa is home to some of the richest countries in the world, in part due to its oil-rich soil and human capital. With GDPs going up as high as $594.257 Billion.

Africa’s leading women in tech 2015
On 9 August 1956, more than 20 000[South African women of all races staged a march on the Union Buildings in protest against the proposed amendments to the Urban Areas Act of 1950, commonly referred to as the “pass laws”. Study reveals African mobile phone usage stats
A survey of mobile phone usage in five African countries has delivered startling findings on the rise of Internet access via phones, the potential demise of Nokia and the continued appeal of BlackBerry.
The Mobile Africa 2015 study, conducted by mobile surveying company GeoPoll and World Wide Worx, surveyed 3 500 mobile phone users in five of Africa’s major markets, namely South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and Uganda. Read the study here.
Study reveals that E-commerce is on the rise in South Africa
A study conducted in South Africa by global market research company Ipsos, on behalf of PayPal and FNB, has revealed a growing interest by South African internet users to shop online. Kenya: Orange launches Kaduda dual SIM handset
