BCX and Telkom receive green light for merger

According to a media statement issued by Business Connexion (BCX), the Competition Commission of South Africa has recommended to the Competition Tribunal that the proposed merger between BCX and Telkom SA SOC Limited (“Telkom”) be approved with conditions.

According to the statement, BCX and Telkom remain committed to the Proposed Transaction and will engage and work with the necessary regulatory bodies accordingly. The merger will advance the strategies of both Telkom and BCG and enable both companies to meet the evolving requirements of their customers.

“We believe that working together with Telkom will improve our customer value proposition through a greater ability to provide integrated end-to-end ICT solutions and a more global and competitive offering, particularly on the African continent,” said Isaac Mophatlane, Business Connexion Group Chief Executive Officer.
