New mobile payment platform launches in Middle East

Arpu Plus has launched a new payment platform dubbed “T-Pay.” According to the company, it has already partnered with 19 mobile operators from 12 countries around the Middle East region in order to offer over 200 million mobile subscribers the ability to charge their online and digital purchases directly to their phone bills through Direct Operators Billing (DOB).

According to the company, the partnerships will enable subscribers around the region to order and purchase any goods, services and content online.The company revealed that consumers are able to use the system to make digital purchases without the need of a credit card or bank account, or the need to register personal details. Their transaction will then be added to their monthly mobile telephone bill if they have a post-paid number, or be deducted from their existing account for those who have a pre-paid number.


Payment transactions can be made from any desktop or mobile device. T-Pay, which was designed, built and is powered by LINK Development, another OTVentures company and a sister company of ArpuPlus. T-Pay is currently available in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait, Algeria, Jordan, Palestine and Qatar in addition to Lebanon with Sudan and Iraq going live in the next phase.
