Find what you need with MTN’s Business Directory Services App

Well, look no further than your mobile phone. The new MTN Business Directory Services app will take you straight to the information you need.

Thousands of businesses, formal and informal, are listed on the MTN Business Directory Services including points of interest such as restaurants, shops and Shisa Nyamas. The app uses your current location to show you where all retailers, including promotions and specials are, in addition to happenings and points of interest within your current vicinity.

“What is exciting about this app is that it is available to anyone with a mobile phone, on any network who can download the app and start enjoying the benefits offered by the biggest location-aware business directory available in the country. Tourists and locals alike can download the app on their mobile phone and start searching for the locations of products or services they need,” says Kanagaratnam Lambotharan, MTN SA Chief Enterprise Business Officer.

The app uses new location and algorithm technology to highlight the most appropriate businesses and point of interest locations to you. It also includes emergency services closest to your location that can be contacted at the touch of an ‘SOS’ button.

Lambotharan added: “The app saves time and does away with the need to trawl through irrelevant search results by instantly providing the exact information requested. How often when searching the internet for a branch of a specific hardware franchise for example, are you directed to numerous pages before you find the contact details and physical location of the branch in your area? The app does away with all this, and even when on the move you can locate all the relevant information that you need with this intuitive tool.”
