FNB’s banking app has received new features as well as a new look and feel. A new feature included in the app is the ability to open an account, from start to finish, in under 10 minutes. Other than FNB’s tablet app, this has not been possible to do on an App in South Africa until now. Customers can also now open cheque accounts, credit cards and investment accounts.
According to FNB, the personalised product offers take the hassle out of banking by matching specific products to customers based on their individual characteristics. FNB Banking app users will be able to apply for pre-approved loans, accounts and investments offered to them as soon as they login, without having to search for them.
Giuseppe Virgillito, Head of Banking app, FNB Mobile and Connect, said: “With this new feature we can ensure that customers using our app only receive personalised and relevant product offers,”
FNB has also launched SWIFT Payments on the FNB Banking App, allowing customers to receive payments from abroad from their smartphones.
Past releases of the app gave customers the ability to purchase iTunes codes. A new eBucks menu also lets customers check balances, reward levels and more. Share Investing and Stock broking, which was introduced in October last year, means that customers can also trade shares, equities and view other instruments in real time.
“Technology improves at a rapid pace and we work hard to harness new technologies and innovation to bring something relevant and useful to our customers. The latest version of our App does just that,” concludes Virgillito.
The FNB App is available across major smartphone platforms including iOS (Apple), Android, and Windows Mobile. According to FNB an app will be made available for the Blackberry v10 soon.
