Sage HR Africa has launched Sage Partner Payroll & HR in Tanzania, bringing Tanzanian start-ups and small businesses a cost-effective, easy to use and flexible payroll solution that will support the growth of their businesses.

Sage HR Africa is part of Sage South Africa, which is in turn a subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange-listed Sage, one of the world’s leading providers of business software. Sage has highlighted East Africa as a key growth market and is making a substantial investment in bringing its business solutions to enterprises in the region.

Sage Partner Payroll & HR offers easy, accurate and secure payroll software processing with all the features Tanzanian businesses need. The payroll software can accommodate an unlimited number of employees in varying employee brackets and has functionality that allows it to grow with any company.

This payroll solution caters for the full spectrum of business needs, from pre-defined, standard sets of transactions for less complicated payrolls to more powerful and customisable features and functions for payrolls with more sophisticated requirements.

Says Pierre Badenhorst, international manager at Sage Partner Payroll & HR, a division of Sage HR Africa: “Economic growth in Tanzania and a growing focus on compliance and governance are helping to spur demand for business solutions. Organisations in the private and public sector recognise that they can no longer rely on manual payroll and taxation systems to keep up with regulatory demands and the growing complexity of their payrolls.

“Moving to automated payroll software helps them to ensure accurate calculations and keeps them up to date with the latest legislative changes. By automating payroll and HR processes, Tanzanian companies can save time, work more efficiently and focus on growing their businesses rather than on doing manual paperwork.”

Sage HR Africa is committed to providing business solutions that are tailored to the needs of the Tanzanian market, adds Gerhard Hartman, head of the Sage HR Africa division. The company is at the forefront of HR and payroll legislative changes in the country and will continue to update its solutions for the latest laws and regulations in conjunction with government and local authorities. Regular software updates ensure users always process on the latest software and legislative version.

Says Hartman: “We are deeply committed to Tanzania and East Africa, and have invested in an extensive support infrastructure, including a regional office in Kenya. Our aim is to bring world-class software to Tanzanian customers with local support.”

Sage HR Africa is carefully choosing Tanzanian business partners with deep knowledge of the local market to sell and support Sage Partner Payroll in Tanzania. “The business partners will also have to complete a rigorous annual certification programme, ensuring that customers will at all times enjoy the best local support available,” says Badenhorst. In addition to the extensive business partner network, customers will also have access to a dedicated call centre that offers expert advice.

The Sage Partner Payroll & HR software solutions operate on both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows operating systems. They integrate tightly with a range of popular accounting solutions, include Sage Pastel Accounting. Sage Partner Payroll also integrates with optional human resource management and self-service modules.
