NEC Unified Solutions is expanding its network reach by moving into North Africa after signing with Encom as a business partner in Morocco. The move is expected to see the development of information technology infrastructure in the country and analysts say it is a sign that NEC wants to make a complete entry into North Africa.
According to a statement from NEC, Encom is expected to distribute the company’s full range of communications solutions to small, medium and large corporations in Morocco.
Speaking to reporters, Frits Neyndorff, the Vice-President for the Middle East and Africa at NEC, said “We are seeing a growing demand for our solutions across the North Africa region and needed a partner that understands the market and our evolving technology. We welcome Encom to our expanding network of channel partners in the region.”
He continued to describe Encom as a professional solutions enterprise aimed at “local business, commercial, education and government clients since 1991.”
One leading analyst in Casablanca said that the partnership would be successful if Encom “is able to create and understand the market needs and help to develop the presence needed to take the NEC product to the next level in Morocco.”
He did warn that without a proper understanding of the market and business needs, NEC could easily have spent large sums of financial capital without direct results.
