Mobile handset maker, Samsung has announced an agreement with Microsoft to use the Windows Phone 7 platform and related application software as a key component of Samsung’s smartphone portfolio.
With the signing of this contract, Samsung will launch several models based on Windows Phone 7 this year in the US, Europe and Asia.

This morning Microsoft unveiled their latest product in the mobile phone sector – smart phones named as Windows Phone 7. Steve Ballmer, the chief executive of Microsoft presented the product in a New York event and the phone is scheduled to hit stores all over the globe by the next few weeks.
Windows Phone 7 or WP7 is an pivotal attempt made by Microsoft to claw back its market share in mobile phone sector that was lost largely due to the release of “iPhone” series by Apple.
