Nigeria’s Zinox acquires World e-Books Library Affiliation

Former Nigerian President, Mr. Olusegun Obasenjo, once joked that if one wants to hide something from Nigerians, one should put it in a book. “If you put it in a book, no Nigerian will ever see it”, he said.

Obasenjo’s joke derived from his concern for the depreciating reading culture in Nigeria, where both the young and the old have abandoned the pursuit for knowledge to pursue material things.

Zinox Technologies Limited, manufacturers of Nigeria’s first internationally certified branded computers, has stepped in to halt the situation, which has been a source of concern for well-meaning Nigerians.

The company has concluded plans to launch “Nigeria Reads”, an initiative designed to revive the reading culture in the country.

“Nigeria Reads” from Zinox Computers is inspired by the company’s exclusive affiliation to the World e-Books Library, which gives this nation direct access to over 750,000 e-books and documents embedded in every Zinox Computer and enabled by a Zinox e-Card, renewable annually at a subsidized rate of N5,000 only.

Mrs. Loretta Agbakoba, head of the Zinox e-Books Project, explained that “Nigeria Reads” is built on the fear that Nigeria would hasten to a failed state if urgent steps are not taken to instill reading culture among Nigerians.
