Has Bill Gates shut down Twitter?

Must Read

Microsoft founder Bill Gates has today joined Twitter, causing a stir and most probably the temporary shutdown of the service for “over capacity” reasons.

“Too many tweets”, declares Twitter on their landing page. A temporary shutdown of the network is now speculated to be due to Bill’s long-awaited Twitter arrival.

Bill Gates’ profile, @BillGates broke 100, 000 Twitter followers in just eight hours – about 12, 500 followers per hour – after even Twitter’s Caroline Mizumoto tweeted about it, writes mashable.com.

Last time Twitter experienced similar problems was when Oprah joined the social network.

“Hello World” were the first words of one of the world’s richest men and known philanthropist, Bill Gates.
