Telecommunications group MTN South Africa will be rolling out more than 20 new depots nationally by next year to give traders and vendors a platform to purchase MTN products at bulk and then resell it for profit.

“Our aim with the MTN Depot is to not only improve our distribution network in South Africa but to also bring products to our trade partners and business associates. These depots assist us in fulfilling our mandate in improving our customer experience by ensuring that there is a consistent supply of products to our customers wherever they are,” says Brian Gouldie, chief sales and services officer at MTN South Africa.

New traders and vendors need to bring proof of identification and a residential address to quality to purchase direct from MTN. These business partners will receive a trade card which can be used to purchase MTN airtime and SIM kits from the MTN Depot.

“With a minimum order of R1 500 needing to be placed, we have designed the MTN Depot to benefit our partners through several exclusive deals,” says Gouldie.

These deals include an 8% discount on airtime, a R10 connection incentive which will be paid upon activation, and partners will also receive regular updates from MTN regarding new products and deals.

“The ordering process is streamlined. The partner can contact our call centre (on 083 123 3036), place the order, make payment, and then collect from the MTN Depot by showing the trade card.”

The MTN Depot will stock MTN prepaid airtime cards in the following denominations – R5, R10, R15, R30, R60, and R180.
