Hackers pounce on ANC alliance partner

Johannesburg (IT News Africa) THE Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) says it had been a victim of cyber criminals.

The organization’s spokesperson, Patrick Craven said an email was doing rounds that COSATU will soon embark on a nationwide strike.

He distanced COSATU from the email, which carries has the subject, “DID U GUYS HEAR ABOUT THIS STRIKE AND HOW TRUE IS IT?”

Craven said, “This is a malicious hoax and has absolutely no basis in fact.”

The email comes hot on the heels of the hacking of the ruling African
National Congress website by unknown individuals who posted pornographic links on the website.
