Despite a very competitive mobile service provider market in Uganda, new entrant Orange is confident it can gain market share in the East African country.
According to a company official, Orange is aiming to be the biggest provider of mobile services in the country. There are four other mobile service providers already established in Uganda, including MTN, Uganda Telecom, Zain and Warid Telecom.
Orange currently has a footprint in 15 other African territories, operating in Botswana, Egypt, Kenya and Niger among others. The company enjoys strong support from its European parent company, France Telecom.
