Globacom in billion dollar network upgrade deal

According to the article Globacom aims to up its cellular subscriber capacity to around 45 million, including expansion of 2G and 3G capabilities. The bulk of the contracted network upgrade will take place in Nigeria, but promises to enable Globacom’s growth throughout the African continent.

Both companies have expressed their excitement about the proposed upgrade, with representatives highlighting various benefits for the end-user, such as better quality connections and clearer voice service on the network.
