MOTOROLA has embarked on an ambitious scheme that seeks to assist smaller telecommunication companies from African and other developing countries access service loans to enable them to implement their technological programmes.
The latest development of Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) is another innovative technology coordinated jointly with the United States’ Department of Agriculture.
According to Dan Moloney, head of Motorola Broadband Communications Sector, the smaller telecommunication firms will benefit immensely through official listing which will give the industry service providers access to Motorola’s field solutions for the delivery of triple play (IPTV), RF video, broadband and quality IP and TDM voice services, while qualifying for low-interest rural utilities service loans.
“End users around the globe are showing us their desire to have immediate, reliable broadband access wherever they are.
“With the continuing launch of WiMAX, optimal test results for LTE, and ongoing gains in our FTTH solution, 2009 promises to be another exciting year for the entire broadband landscape,” said Moloney. —ITNewsAfrica.
