Kenya’s Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Communications, Bitange Ndemo, said the east African nation had capable personnel in both the business process outsourcing (BPO) and knowledge process outsource (KPO) that enabled the country to provide global customers with competent and effective performing outsourced work.

Ndemo was speaking at the presentation ceremony of PIN certificates for Certified Information Systems Auditors (CISA) in the Kenyan capital.

“Online transactions are moving at a fast pace and need robust information security systems to protect users against non-authentic access,” said Ndemo.

The prestigious and lavish function was organised by Kenya’s Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).

Ndemo said the certification of PIN would enable the country to attract KPO related employment opportunities from around the African continent and the rest of the globe, as clients would be assured of competence and effectiveness of those that perform outsourced work.

“Information systems auditors are desperately needed locally in order to check and verify the security of clients’ money being transferred through such services like M-Pesa, Post Pay, ZAIN’s M-Commerce and others,” said Ndemo.
