CA Inc. and VMware have today announced a partner incentive program to accelerate the deployment of their new combined recovery management solution for small and medium businesses. Authorised partners who purchase both CA’s Recovery Management and VMware Infrastructure will qualify for an extra 5% discount on CA Recovery Management products.
SMBs to benefit from CA and VMware’s business continuity solution
The combination of CA Recovery Management and VMware Infrastructure provides partners with a unique solution that can help their customers to affordably manage and create continuous application availability without the expensive hardware and software investments and upgrade costs experienced by many other organisations. The solution makes business continuity and disaster recovery possible for mid-market/SMB customers, who otherwise might go without such protection due to cost and complexity.
CA Recovery Management, including CA ARCserve® Backup and CA XOsoft™, complements and extends the features and benefits of VMware Infrastructure by offering seamless integration of physical and virtual business continuity and disaster recovery requirements into one Recovery Management strategy. This provides comprehensive, integrated protection and recovery features for physical and virtual enterprise servers, applications and information.
Through selling the VMware/CA solution channel partners can help their customers achieve key business and IT goals using the flexibility of a virtualised infrastructure: reducing risk, improving efficiency and providing cost-effective high availability.
Expanded opportunities for CA and VMware’s channel partners
For CA and VMware’s channel partners, this partnership offers the opportunity to draw on the momentum of two industry leaders while offering customers a one-stop virtualisation and recovery management solution. VMware is the undisputed leader in virtualisation technology, and CA has technical leadership in recovery management. For partners, the combination of these offers gives them the chance to sell broader, deeper solutions with a larger than average deal size and higher margins. Partners also gain an ongoing CA and VMware licensing and renewal stream, gain revenue from the professional services delivered to their customers, and benefit from specific incentive schemes such as the 5% incentive currently being announced. VMware authorised partners will get access to CA’s partner program, through CA’s partner authorization process.
“CA and VMware’s business continuity solution is easy to sell and easy to implement and manage. Partners and customers can start reaping the benefits very quickly,” said Tim Goodwin, CA’s Director of EMEA Volume Sales. “We feel that this integrated offering will bring some of the real benefits of virtualization to the small and medium-sized business, and through that open new and expand existing sales opportunities for our partners.”
“VMware is acknowledged as the virtualisation leader and its technology is in use today by the world’s largest and sophisticated users. Virtualisation allows for innovative disaster recovery solutions, which thanks to this collaboration with CA’s channel, can now also benefit small and medium-sized businesses. With CA and VMware, the channel can offer customers a distinctive and compelling business continuity offering, which was previously only available to the privileged few,” said Matt Piercy, Senior Director of VMware EMEA.
