Telkom and Unions will continue today. Telkom has revised its wage offer from 10.5 to 11 percent.
The talks come into place after to unions.
The unions which are representing 62 percent of the workforce, launched a two-day strike which started last week Friday. Leaders have said that their members are ‘action ready’ if a settlement is not reached today.
The Communication Workers’ Union (CWU) and the SA Communication Union have received 11.5 percent from the 12.5 they were demanding in April 2008. Some members and other non-unionized workers have already accepted Telkom’s 10.5 percent increase.
Some unions demands include a one percent additional salary increase, while Telkom id offering an additional 0.5 percent effective from 1 October 2008.
