Addis Ababa, July 06: Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said Ethiopia is benefiting from India’s capacity building and technology transfer assistance. Holding talks with the Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee here Thursday, Zenawi said various Ethiopians are receiving educational trainings in India owing to recognition on both sides of the need for the capacity building sector.
Ethiopia is also benefiting form India’s relevant assistance in technology transfer sector and stressed need for continued support.
A senior official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who attended the discussion quoted Zenawi as saying during the discussion that the long-standing Ethio-Indian relations has been on the right track, and has been being bolstered since recent years.
The trade, investment, economic cooperation of the two countries would further be strengthened, it was said during the discussion. The Indian External Affairs Minister, Pranab Mukherjee after the discussion told journalists that both sides have held a fruitful deliberation.
The discussion is a concrete evidence for the interest of the two countries to enhance their multi-faceted relations, he said.
The External Affairs Minister has delivered the invitation of the Indian Prime Minister to Zenawi to attend a meeting to be held in India on federalism.
