The infamous DVD Jon, who cracked the DVD encryption key eight years ago, has released software on his blog that he claims bypasses the iPhone’s activation procedure.
To enable the iPhone, all users are forced to activate the unit using an AT&T SIM card. Before activation the iPhone is just ‘an expensive brick‘ as some people have said.
There has been speculation that you might be able to use a single SIM to activate more than one iPhone, but this would still force you to be in the United States.
If DVD Jon’s claims are true, maybe the iPhone needs an upgrade… already!
