At only about half the size of a standard card, AAIB Visa Mini card is the latest payment innovation in the Egyptian market. It offers cardholders a multitude of key benefits including convenience, flexibility, and security.

“AAIB has been the gateway of new Visa innovations into Egypt, both entities mark a remarkable association as we meet on common ground; our passion for innovation. The Visa Mini is a breakthrough in card design and a strong example of our continuous leadership and commitment to remain at the forefront of technology and innovation,’

said Hassan Abdalla, AAIB Vice Chairman and Managing Director, ‘We listen closely to our clients and strive to remain one step ahead of the market by providing our customers with the latest products that will not only meet, but exceed their expectations.’

AAIB Visa Mini credit card can be issued as a standalone or supplementary card and includes details similar to the standard-sized card such as the card number, name and expiry date. It is conveniently designed with a perforated hole at the bottom left corner allowing cardholders to easily attach it to any carry-along devices such as key rings or other personal accessories.

It is also easy to use, while nearly half the size of a standard card, it works exactly the same at retail locations using electronic terminals with card swipe readers. The merchants will swipe the card at their electronic point of sale (POS) swipe readers and then cardholders just need to sign the sales slip. The Visa Mini card however, cannot be used at Automated Teller Machine (ATM) facilities and similar terminals that require the card to be inserted. The standard-sized Visa card should be used instead for such purposes.

In addition to convenience and ease of use, the Visa Mini is a secure payment tool. The ability to attach it to personal accessories such as key chains minimizes the chances of loss. In addition, the account numbers on the card have been made intentionally smaller and are not visible from a distance.

‘Visa is delighted to partner with AAIB to launch the Visa Mini in Egypt. This is the result of an ongoing and mutual commitment to lead through innovation and use world-leading technology to provide superior service. Lifestyle products are becoming more compact such as mobile phones and laptops. The Visa Mini is a trendy alternative that provides cardholders with even greater flexibility and freedom. Whether you are going on vacation, out for lunch, shopping or playing sports, the Visa Mini gives you all the convenience and mobility you need for everyday spending,’ said Tarek Elhousseiny, Visa’s Vice President and General Manager for Egypt and Libya. ‘Visa Mini cards are widely accepted at local and international points of sale. I would like to congratulate the AAIB for their dedication and commitment to bringing the latest payment innovations to the Egyptian market in line with global developments in the industry.’
