The Strategic Software Asset Management Forum, hosted by Marcus Evans, brings together leaders from Southern Africa to discuss and network on the strategic role of SAM (Software Asset Management) in organisations.

This conference takes place from the 18 – 19 June 2007 at the Park
Hyatt Hotel in Johannesburg and will boast best practices and methods of implementation for companies to benchmark against and will give delegates the ability to incorporate strategies that have proven successful.

Organisations in Southern Africa have established a basic understanding of what SAM entails, they have identified the strategic role of all stakeholders in respect of Software Asset Management and now have taken initial steps to implement software asset management.
The challenge now lies in the ability to refine current practices, policies and procedures to ensure continuous successful implementation of SAM efforts.

With this in mind, this conference features case studies and expert presentations from, amongst others: AFRICAN BANKING CORPORATION in
ZIMBABWE, DEPT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, ABSA, SITA, FIRST
TECHNOLOGY, CSIR: CENTER FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING, SARS and
BYTES TECHNOLOGY GROUP.

Delegates attending the conference will gain valuable insights into:
• Discovering the SAM implementation processes, incorporating a practical guide to successful implementation.
• Exploring possible solutions to refine current practices in SAM.
• Managing the life cycle of Software Assets and exploring software auditing processes.
• Understanding the importance of compliance management in respect of software licensing agreements and mitigating the risks.
• Benefiting from streamlining SAM efforts to adopt best practices and industry guidelines.
