Tanzania: TCRA says only 3 regions left to go digital

The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) director general, John Nkoma, has revealed that only three regions still need to switch to digital.

Nkoma added that the remaining three regions would go fully digital by March 2014. Nkoma also revealed that the TCRA would host the annual Broadcasters Conference on 5 December as part of celebrations to mark 20 years of broadcasting under the theme, “Celebrating 20 Years of Broadcasting Pluralism in Tanzania: Achievements and Challenges.”

Nkoma said the Broadcasters Workshop was expected to be attended by 200 delegates from licensed broadcasters operating in Tanzania Mainland and invited national and international broadcasting organizations, regulators from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and SADC countries.
