In a bid to expand its footprint, Etisalat will invest about $1.4 billion dollars in its Egyptian operations, this according to Bloomberg. Etisalat, is the third mobile operator in Egypt behind Mobinil and Vodafone.
Commenting on the plans Etisalat chairman Mohammad Omran said: ‘Our investment in the network has reached EGP8 billion [to] date, and we expect that we will invest EGP8 billion more in the coming three years as networks expansion is a priority for the company.’
Etisalat’s customer base has risen to 14 million, having invested around 8 billion pounds in Egypt to date.
