According to Bebuzee, over the last few months, Social Media users have most certainly picked up the buzz going around Social Networks. With the likes of Ello, the Site that claims or at least it seems to be the Anti-Facebook Network, it has sparked opinions within Facebook users to the point of even some shutting down their Facebook accounts. Ello is an invite only Social Network which does not believe in making money through adverts, which is making them stand out among other Networks. Despite that, there is one other Social Network which is indeed sparking an even bigger buzz at the moment, and that is Bebuzee.
According to the company, Bebuzee as most know by now is the name of the most recent Social Network to split earnings with its users. Based in Bournemouth, south coast of England it is believed to be one of the fastest growing Social Sites in recent years recording over five million users worldwide, surpassing some of the most prominent Social Networks, in terms of success achieved in only four months.
As incredulous as it may sound, Bebuzee believes that social networks must share their profits with users since income is generated in first place through them. All people should know that the content uploaded by users is what creates online traffic which eventually converts into money, as well as adverts without viewers are simply pointless since they need to be viewed. Without users there is basically no revenue and no Social Network. Since they are the locomotive of Social Networks and what actually generates money, Bebuzee has decided to share their profits with all their users; and by doing so it puts them one step ahead of other Social Networks.
The way this concept works and how users can actually make money is through ad impressions and clicks. Each time someone clicks on an advert displayed on someone’s page, the user will receive a sum of $0.25. Since adverts seem to be displayed on the platform, it can turn out to be very beneficial for the users. In turn, impressions is a measure that records the number of times content uploaded by users is seen. This does not take into account number of clicks but the number of times it appears. For every time a photo, video or statuses is seen by others it is counted as one impression. For every 1000 impressions achieved by a user Bebuzee pays $0.50 to that person.
To help users keep track of how much they have earned, how many impressions and click on adverts they have, there is a dashboard under ‘My Earnings’ tab on each profile which can only be accessed by the user him/herself. In addition Bebuzee is offering $1 USD upon opening an account with them. As unheard as it is, sharing revenue is believed to have already a great impact among users attracting many from all over the world including the United Kingdom, Nigeria and the USA.
It was said that the idea of sharing revenue however came when Joe Onyero, founder of Bebuzee discovered how much profit other Social Network make annually from users. He says that “it is about time we reward our users by giving back half of the profit we make through them”. “Hopefully by doing so we can finally give users what they have long been deserving and give the world of Social Media something they have never seen before”. In addition to this strategy, Bebuzee has already developed various different ways to generate more impressions to its users the most trending one being ‘Blogbuz’.
‘Blogbuz’ is a feature dedicated to blogging where people can post their stories and experiences. This feature allows the user to post up to five pictures per blog, a video, as well as write as much as they want about their topic. Bebuzee has gone a step further and incorporated a blog feed under the ‘Blogbuz’ tab. What ‘Blogbuz’ does is it displays all blogs from different users so that it reaches a wider audience to allow users interact in a more archetypal way with their friends and others giving them total control of what they read. The idea behind this feature is that bloggers will be certain that their content will be viewed not only by the friends they invite but also anyone who visits ‘Blogbuz’. Since this is a great place to publish your material the rest rests upon how catchy your title and images are.
Once the user is happy with the content and has been published, to increase your views and followers you can then share your blog onto other Social Networks by clicking on the share button at the bottom of the page. There is a direct link for the user to share on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google + and LinkedIn. Joe Onyero, the founder of Bebuzee says that “blogging will become a more popular thing to do once people see the benefits and potential of having a blog, especially on Bebuzee”. This can potentially be a new trend in the near future where users will want to create more and more blogs. Bebuzee believes that by having this feature on the site, users can improve the quality of time spent on the site as they will be more focused on creating something meaningful to them.
